Requirement: Tetanus
WSU
- Animal Contact Program
Requirement
- Evidence
of tetanus booster within the last 10 years is required for all
employees who have recurrent animal contact . This is based
upon the recommendation of the US Department of Health and Human
Services and the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
- You must
document when you were immunized for tetanus on the Participation/Declination
form when you register in the WSU
Animal Contact Program.

Exemptions
- Medical exemptions:
Employee must produce a letter from a doctor stating the reason
for the exemption and whether it is temporary or permanent.
- Religious
exemption: Employee must produce a letter on church stationery,
signed by the minister, priest, rabbi, or head of church.
Where
and How to Get Immunized!
- ACCEPT participation
in the Medical Health and Risk Assessment element of the WSU Animal
Contact Program. The immunization will then be provided to you
at no cost!!
- Student Health
at Pullman Memorial Hospital (if you are a student at WSU)
- Your Physician
